SYNOPSIS
In Within closed eyes, the choreographers Emio Greco and Pieter C.Scholten embark on an artistic dialogue with Victor Callens and Barbara Meneses, former dancers and collaborators of theirs. The four of them are launched into the research of the essence of a choreographic language that has intermittently united them for the last 20 years.
BIO
Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten created their first work together in 1995, the solo Bianco, which became the first part of the Fra Cervello e Movimento trilogy. In these early solos, Greco expressed a curious body and gave the impression of being surprised by what was happening with his own movements.
In 1996, they founded the dance company Emio Greco | PC and in 2009 they merged all their activities into the International Center for Choreographic Arts - ICK Dans Amsterdam.
Victor Callens: Born in France, he graduated from the CNSMD in Paris in 2007. He worked with Emio Greco|PC in Amsterdam for 7 years before he went to the Marseille National Ballet where he worked as a dancer, repetitor and assistant. Fund of nature, Victor now lives in Coll de l’Alba for a year where he combines artistic projects and a farmer life style.
Barbara Meneses Gutierrez: She graduated from P.A.R.T.S in 1999 and immidiately joined the company Emio Greco|PC. Since then, she has been collaborating with them as dancer, repetitor, DoubleSkin|DoubleMind certified teacher and coordinator of the education projects at the Academy of ICK. Two years ago Barbara moved back to Catalonia, to a small village in the Alt Penedés where she lives with her partner and three kids.
