AKIRA YOSHIDA

Fast, but slow, but up, but down, but wild, but sensitive

  • Date: 11/07 to 15/07

SYNOPSIS

Exploration in this workshop starts with the transformation of the Breakdance language, shaping it into other forms, qualities, dynamics. We will focus on weight distribution and transfer. By using weight as a physical element, we are allowed to move quickly but lightly and this makes up a lot of room to be creative. This workshop explores how we can turn ‘tricks’ into simpler ‘movements’ and work on creativity and transitions.

BIO
Akira has been awarded over 60 prizes within Breaking in Spain, France and Austria. After receiving the main artistic scholarship in Navarra, he started studying at SEAD. Akira has worked with Hungry Sharks, ROPA / Roberto Olivan Performing Arts, Physical Momentum and Lali Ayguadé Company. He has created Hito with Chey Jurado, Gizaki with Lali Ayguadé and Ahotsak with Ziomara Hormaetxe. He participated in Who Is Frau Troffea? (2020), a 7-hour durational performance that took place in Munich during 11 days in a row.
